Since 2009 hotels of our group have introduced sorting of paper, plastics and vegetable oils for recycling. A challenging project in a context where the collection of sorted waste is not nationally organized by the government.

The Heritage Awali has also invested in a drastic change in its habits: the removal of all plastic bottles and aluminium cans from its restaurants and bars, replacing them with returnable glass... the results speak for themselves: a fall of 93% in the consumption of plastic ! While last year 7000 plastic bottles per month were sent for recycling, this year it was only 250 bottles per month ! In addition, it has been noted that this action has also been accompanied by a reduction of water wastage, because the glass bottle containing 1L is always finished, which was not often the case with 1,5 L!
